I don't have access to a welder, or else I would try to tack some new nuts to the top of the rounded bolts and use the new nuts to turn the old bolts out.Īnother idea was to try to file new flats onto the bolt heads. I am thinking a PO either put a wrong thermostat in, or the one there is not working properly. I bought a 180 thermostat to put in since that is what the manual suggests. It seems to run OK now, so I am wondering if it is even worth messing with. I read that the engine will run better if it gets warmed up. It barely gets off the cold mark and then only on a good long uphill pull. A machined or tapped hole will be required on the end of one profile to allow for. ![]() This simple fastening method creates a very rigid joint. The tabs on the t-nut help to align the profiles and keep the pieces from rotating. ![]() The temp gauge has never gotten into the normal range since we had the Jeep. As one of the most common fastening methods, standard fasteners consist of a bolt and a t-nut. It looks like a PO tried to tighten them with a worn out crescent wrench. The bolts on the housing are rounded off pretty bad.
